In AOL “Distressedbaby-gate,” Tim Armstrong’s PR Gaffe Is Not the Real Issue

I have an opinion piece on the cover of the Points section in Sunday’s Dallas Morning News. Here’s the top:
I get it. It’s not cool for a CEO to blame his company’s tightening of benefits on babies.
Especially “distressed babies.”
But while AOL chief executive Tim Armstrong will not win any popularity contests with his latest insensitive gaffe, the real question to me is larger and more important: Why do we, as a country, insist on putting our CEOs between our citizens and their healthcare choices?
